The hamlet of Les Massols
The hamlet of Massols, was part of an ancient village that depended on the parish of Marsa. This village was called the Bac and had its own mayor (baile)
As for Taffine the current name of this hamlet comes from a family called Massols who lived there during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The domain of Massols
In the heart of a huge forest, perched on an eagle's nest, the Domaine des Massols is a haven of peace. It stretches over 27 hectares of forest in the Natura 2000 zone. Nestled at an altitude of 700m, at its feet flows the Rébenty River, popular for swimming and classified as a 1st category for trout fishing.
The farming and breeding activities of the past have given way to activities geared towards organic farming and hosting in bed and breakfast and table d'hôte.
Eve and Anthony Thion
Falling in love with this old farm, Eve and Antony undertook to build a peaceful and authentic life.
Producers in Organic Farming, they welcome you for gourmet picnics under their centenary linden or on your hiking trail. You can also taste the products of the farm and compose your gourmet basket.
On their arrival the lands had not been cultivated for many years and the forest had naturally taken all the place. The soil with humus is naturally rich and needs no input.
Growing plots in Organic Farming was a no-brainer. The slopes do not allow the mechanization of work, so they chose to clear small plots and cultivate suitable species such as saffron or small red berries.
In order to value this small production, the processing of products on the farm was an economic necessity.
The farm is certified by Ecocert under license number 107714 / 12P.
